| Greymouth
Greymouth is the West Coast’s Tourism Centre. Founded on romance
& adventure by goldminers, tourism is now the major activity.
There are plenty of exciting activities in and around Greymouth including
white water rafting, glow-worm cave rafting, 4x4 bike trips through
the rainforest and launch cruises. You can discover your own gold
at Shantytown, an 1860’s
goldrush village with a steam train, saloon, gold claim and much more.
Greymouth is the home of NZ Jade
Carving with a visit to the Jade Boulder to see its carvers at
work displaying a unique artists skill.
