Taranaki Attractions
There are many great tourist attractions in Taranaki to choose from. We recommend experiencing Mt Taranaki up close on the many walkways that either take you to the top of (or around the lower slopes of) this impressive mountain. When visiting New Plymouth, we suggest you visit the many magnificent public and private gardens on offer including Pukekura Park (where you will also find the family-friendly Brooklands Zoo) and Te Kainga Marire (a superb native garden) . To make the most of New Plymouth's stunning and ever-changing coastline, we highly recommend taking a stroll along the city's 7 kilometre coastal walkway.
