Canterbury
Canterbury stretches from the mountains of the South
Alps in the west to the east coast of the pacific. The Eastern side
is made up of flat fertile, green farmland (which looks most impressive
from above). Moving west, the plains give way to rolling hills and
rise abruptly into huge majestic Alps.
Christchurch (The South Island's Largest City)
Hanmer Springs (A popular Thermal Reserve)
Kaikoura (See the Sperm Whales)
Akaroa (Quaint settlement on Banks Peninsula)
Mt Cook (New Zealand's Highest Mountains)
Lake Tekapo (Picturesque Alpine Lake Resort)
Twizel (Nestled amongst several man-made Lakes)
